Blast gates are used to direct airflow to specific collection points within an industrial or woodworking facility. By opening or closing individual blast gates, users can selectively activate or deactivate suction at various workstations or machinery, ensuring efficient dust and debris capture while conserving energy and maintaining optimal airflow throughout the system.

 A critical parameter in dust collection systems, the air-to-cloth ratio represents the relationship between the volume of air (expressed in cubic feet per minute, CFM) that passes through the filter media of a dust collector and the total surface area of the filter media (expressed in square feet, ft²). It is used to determine the efficiency and capacity of a dust collector. A low A/C ratio indicates a larger filter area relative to the airflow, which is favorable for effective filtration, while a high A/C ratio suggests a smaller filter area for a given airflow, which may reduce filtration efficiency and increase pressure drop. Properly managing the air-to-cloth ratio is essential to maintain optimal dust collection performance and filter longevity.
